Hey Wedding Day

Can someone RSVP if I haven’t added them to my guest list? (Open invitation)

Yes. An Open Invitation lets someone who is not already on your guest list enter their name and complete an RSVP. When they submit the form, they are added to Guest Management automatically.

Open Invitation works alongside your existing guest list. You can add known guests as usual while also allowing new, unknown guests to RSVP.

When should I use an Open Invitation?

It can be useful when:

  • you do not know every attendee’s name in advance;
  • you are inviting a community, club or informal group; or
  • the RSVP link itself is intended to act as the invitation.

Only enable it when you are comfortable accepting responses from people who are not already on your guest list.

Enable an Open Invitation

  1. Go to RSVP Forms and edit the form you want to share.
  2. Make sure RSVP Name Search is enabled in your Website Settings.
  3. Open the Settings tab.
  4. Turn on Allow guests to respond that are not on the guest list?
  5. Set the form status to Open, then save your changes.

How does it work?

Guests first search for their name. Existing guests select their party and RSVP as usual. If no matching party is found, a new guest enters their full name and completes the same RSVP form. They are added to your guest list when they submit their response.
