Hey Wedding Day

Customising your URL

At Hey Wedding Day, every wedding website gets a personalised link you can share with guests. You can either customise the last part of your URL (e.g. /Emily-And-Jack) — or connect your very own domain like emilyandjack.com.

Default Structure

By default, your website is hosted at:

https://www.heyweddingday.com/your-custom-name

Example:

https://www.heyweddingday.com/Emily-and-Jack

How to Customise Your URL

When setting up your wedding website, you'll be asked to choose a website name — this becomes the final part of your URL.

  • Keep it simple and easy to remember.
  • Use hyphens instead of spaces (e.g. Emily-Jack).
  • Only letters, numbers, and hyphens are allowed.
  • The name must be unique — if it’s taken, try a variation.

Where to Customise Your URL

You can change your wedding website’s URL from the Settings page at any time:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Find the Your URL section.
  3. Click Customise.
  4. Enter your new Website Name and save.

Important:

  • Your Website Name must be unique — if it's taken, you’ll need to try another.
  • Changing your Website Name will break the old link, so update your guests if you've already shared it.

Using Your Own Domain

Want to use your own personalised domain like emilyandjack.com? You can! Many couples choose to set up a simple domain forward so guests can type a short, elegant link and be taken straight to their Hey Wedding Day website.

All you need to do is log into your domain provider (such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Google Domains) and set up URL Forwarding to your wedding website link.

Learn more in our Custom Domain Forwarding Guide.

Editing Your URL Later

You can update your Website Name at any time, but keep in mind:

  • Your previous URL will stop working.
  • Make sure to inform your guests if you’ve already sent out the link.
